Deleting emails

Some mail servers explicitly leave a copy of the email even though the program may have deleted it. Check with your mail server settings for more information around this, typically in the IMAP settings section. For example, in gmail here's the help page around this.

Move to trash

Some mail servers offer the ability to soft-delete emails by moving it to the Trash. Once the email is in the trash, then the system will purge older emails in the trash. Duration can often times be controlled in the mail server settings.

If you want to do this, then instead of deleting the email, you can choose the copy/move email post download action that can move the email to the Trash folder. You will need to select the correct Trash folder to make it happen.
